Work Experience
ReCommon
Executive Director & Co-founder | November 2021 - November 2024
I founded a 501(c)(3) research and development nonprofit dedicated to creating systems and tools that support a distributed network of resilient bioregional communities. Through this organization, I developed the Adaptive Bioregional Governance model, the Regenerative Community Land Trust framework, and the Commons Credit methodology—innovative approaches to commons-based land acquisition and governance. My work integrates expertise in community development, landscape remediation, technology, land acquisition, and financing, leveraging these disciplines to design custom digital maps for global impact projects, including an indigenous-led initiative in Colombia. Internationally recognized for my writings on bioregionalism and groundbreaking land trust design, my work has been cited as a case study in Bioregional Financing Facilities and featured in podcasts, public speaking engagements, and events such as the Transformative Impact Summit NYC 2024. Additionally, I developed and executed a digital mapping program for The Farmers Land Trust, enabling the successful identification of key farmland properties for acquisition to support BIPOC farmers in Baltimore, Maryland, and beyond.

Spirals Protocol
Impact Lead | June 2022 - December 2022
I led the design and execution of the company’s climate impact strategy, identifying viable project partnerships and evaluating carbon methodologies, MRV (measurement, reporting, and verification) techniques, and sustainability objectives. I recruited and established a Climate Council composed of scientists and project developers with expertise spanning diverse climate sciences and impact disciplines. To streamline operations, I developed and implemented an application process for climate impact projects to be listed on the Spirals website and verified by the Climate Council. As a subject-matter expert, I conducted in-depth research and reporting on carbon credits, biodiversity credits, and eco-credit systems. Additionally, I forged partnerships with tech companies, advancing them through the sales pipeline and integrating Spirals Protocol technology into their applications, driving innovation and adoption in the climate tech space.
UnCanny Wellness
CEO & Founder | May 2016 - August 2023
As a solo entrepreneur in Boulder, CO, I founded one of the world’s first water-soluble hemp-derived CBD companies, pioneering functional CBD products that incorporated adaptogenic mushrooms and herbs. Starting hands-on in a commercial kitchen, I scaled the business from crafting products myself to implementing fully automated systems that allowed me to operate the brand remotely—drawing inspiration from Tim Ferriss’ 4-Hour Workweek. I developed multiple product lines and achieved national distribution in Lucky’s Market stores, as well as placement in over 100 cafes and coffee shops across the USA. In addition to creating and managing the company website, I handled customer service operations, fostering a loyal customer base with a returning customer rate exceeding 50%. By 2023, I had successfully scaled the business for efficiency and sold the brand, marking a successful exit in the emerging CBD market.

Life Experience & Education
Ecological Home Design & Build
Owner-Builder | Rollinsville, Colorado | 2022-2024
From 2022 to 2024, I designed and built my eco-home in the mountains of Colorado, transforming a raw hillside into a modest, healthy structure. The project incorporated passive solar design, ecological and up-cycled materials, and Faswall blocks for construction, resulting in an all-electric, energy-efficient home. This high-altitude permaculture property also features the beginnings of stone terraces, raised garden beds, and hardy perennial plantings, blending resilience and sustainability.
B.S. Environmental Science: Ecological Design & Water Resources
University of Vermont | Burlington, Vermont | 2010-2014
I earned a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Vermont, concentrating in water resources and ecological design. During my studies, I was introduced to permaculture, natural building, and the pioneering work of the New Alchemy Institute. I also minored in religion, focusing on Eastern spiritual traditions, which deepened my understanding of holistic and interconnected systems.
Timber Framing Intensive
EcoNest Architecture | 2022
In preparation for my home build, I completed a timber framing course at EcoNest in Ashland, Oregon. During the course, I gained hands-on experience constructing a full timber frame with traditional wooden joinery and explored light straw clay construction techniques.
Permaculture Design Certificate
CRMPI (Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute | 2022
I began studying permaculture in 2015 with a mentor in Kauai, Hawaii, and formalized my training by earning a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) at CRMPI in 2022. This unique course integrated biodynamic farming and ranching with cold-climate greenhouse design, showcasing ‘climate battery’ technology to enable near-passive cultivation of tropical and Mediterranean foods in the mountains of Colorado.
Climate Action Track Organizer
Boulder Startup Week | 2022
I developed, organized, and hosted a Climate Action track at Boulder Startup Week, featuring three panel sessions with local industry experts. The events included discussions on Regenerative Agriculture, exploring its potential to mitigate climate change through resilient local food systems and landscapes; Building for Climate Resiliency, addressing the need for structures that can withstand extreme weather and reduce carbon emissions; and Climate x Crypto, examining how emerging Web3 technologies, such as carbon credits and nature-backed NFTs, are enabling innovative solutions for climate action. Each session concluded with a Q&A, fostering valuable community engagement and knowledge sharing.
Psychedelic Facilitation
Psychedelic Studies Intensive w/ Zach Leary | 2023
Building on my experience and studies at the intersection of science, spirituality, and consciousness, I completed an intensive psychedelic facilitation training with Zach Leary, son of Timothy Leary and student of Ram Dass. This program offered a unique blend of modern psychedelic science, historical context, wisdom traditions, and trauma-informed integration practices. I now offer consulting and facilitation services for the intentional use of entheogens, supporting individuals and groups in their journeys of healing and growth.
Permaculture Associate
Resonance Science Foundation | 2014
I was a permaculture specialist at the Resonance Project in Kauai, the former living laboratory of Nassim Haramein and his team of researchers. The project focused on exploring Unified Physics, bridging quantum theory and cosmology, while also developing breakthrough energy technologies. During my time on-site, I contributed to Module 5: Ancient Origins for the Resonance Academy’s online course and collaborated with the staff to manage the permaculture aspects of the research facilities. This experience deepened my understanding of sustainability in the context of innovative, cutting-edge scientific exploration.
